Majors in Chemistry and Global Cultural Studies in the Program in Literature

Hello! My name is Annie. I’m a senior double majoring in Chemistry and Global Cultural Studies, with a heavy involvement in research in both departments. Getting to meet others with the same interests here at Duke has been one of my greatest joys — I love troubleshooting synthesis questions in FFSC with my fellow chemistry majors and discussing Foucault and film aesthetics with other literature majors. In my free time, I write articles for the Chronicle’s Recess, read, and explore the Duke Gardens.

Favorite Class: LIT340S: Reading Like a Queer with Robyn Wiegman! This course marked the beginning of my journey in queer scholarship, as well as inspired my thesis subject. Class discussions were both fun and enlightening, and I became very close with my classmates.
