Class of 2025
Majors in Biology and Global Culture and Theory; Minor in Mathematics

I am a senior majoring in Literature and Biology. At Duke, I participated in the Geopolitics and Culture FOCUS program, contributed to The Chronicle, and am on the editorial board for the literary magazine OTHER. I am writing an honors thesis that explores how the psychiatric category known as borderline personality disorder came to serve as a commentary on the project of psychiatric classification in the twentieth-century United States. I'm also working at the Strader Lab, using model plants to elucidate molecular mechanisms of transcription activation. In my free time, I love to read, travel, and go birdwatching.

Favorite Class: LIT354S Intro to Psychoanalytic Theory with Professor Antonio Viego has been my favorite class because it sparked my interest in understanding human experience from a perspective that is neither reducible to biology nor to standardized systems of identifying mental health and pathology.
