A complete electronic application should be uploaded by the deadline which is December 8. Supplemental materials such as: official transcripts, letters of recommendation, the statement of purpose, and writing sample should be uploaded with the application. If one is offered admission, the department will request that official transcripts be submitted. Official GRE and TOEFL scores must be sent to the Graduate School (institution code 5156) from ETS.
The submission of a writing sample (nonreturnable, limited to 15-25 pages) is required. It should be a copy of an essay (nonfiction), preferably a critical or scholarly essay submitted as an academic requirement in a course in literature. Writing sample should be uploaded in the "writing sample" section of the application and should not exceed 25 pages.
