Credential Requirements
B.A. Global Cultural Studies
  • 10 Courses
    • LIT 201: Intro to Global Cultural Studies
    • LIT 301S: Theory Today
    • 4 core courses chosen taught only by faculty with primary, secondary, or joint appointments in Literature*
    • 3 electives from humanities fields, with DUS review and  approval
    • Senior culminating experience led only by faculty with appointments in Literature: LIT 393 research independent study OR graduate-level course OR completed honors thesis track
B.A. Global Cultural Studies, Film & Media Concentration
  • 10 Courses
    • LIT 201: Intro to Global Cultural Studies
    • LIT 301S: Theory Today
    • LIT 316 Film Theory OR LIT 317 Media Theory (Either option must be taught only by faculty with appointments in Literature.)
    • Senior culminating experience led only by faculty with appointments in Literature: LIT 393 research independent study OR graduate-level course OR completed honors thesis track
    • 6 additional courses: at least 3 must focus on the study of film and/or media and must be taught by faculty with primary, secondary, or joint appointments in Literature*. 3 electives from humanities fields, with DUS review and  approval.
Minor Global Cultural Studies
  • 5 Courses
    • LIT 201: Intro to Global Cultural Studies
    • 3 core courses taught only by faculty with appointments in Literature*
    • Elective of your choice from a humanities field, approved by advisor

*Only courses taught by faculty who have appointments in Literature will count as Core Courses toward our Major, Minor, or Film and Media Concentration.

ALL courses MUST have a letter grade to count toward any major/minor requirements in our program.
